Taos School of Music

2021 Chamber Music Festival

Exceptional performances!

Exceptional Performances

For over half a century, Taos School of Music has attracted virtuoso talent from acclaimed music institutions, including Julliard and New England Conservatory, for an extraordinary summer of learning.

Over eight magical weeks, they receive masterful coaching from our resident faculty, culminating in 8 breathtaking student concerts and 5 extraordinary faculty performances over the course of the summer.

Unlike other summer programs, which provide students a repertoire list weeks in advance, we challenge our students to work together, providing only two weeks to learn assigned compositions and prepare for live performances.

The tension created through these short deadlines yields remarkable performances from our students, wowing audiences with their high level of musicianship.

After a year in lockdown, we are delighted to be able to assemble students and faculty together in-person and have high expectations of delivering our best season yet – with On-Demand ticket purchases!

“Thank you all – from a truly golden evening in Taos – sitting in our living room looking west after showers so much moisture in the air at sunset turned gold – matches your golden performance!

Blessings to you all and thanks for filling my world with beauty!”

Virtual Concert-Goer, Taos, New Mexico

You can’t know how substantive your videos have been in filling the [pandemic] void from the dearth of musical and artistic events aqui in Taos. I will make a more substantive donation at the end of the series and hope this is one of a deluge. Because of the intimacy of chamber music, it seems particularly well suited to video– especially from the St Bernard.
