Greetings!
We hope that your first few days of spring have been enjoyable and filled with the hints of awakening that foreshadow the coming of the Taos School of Music season.
We have some exciting news to share with you: after an extensive national search, we can now announce our new Executive Director, Dr. Erik Christian Peterson. He is uniquely positioned to lead the TSoM, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for the organization!
Dr. Joan Woodard, Chair of the TSoM Board of Directors, is “thrilled to welcome a uniquely skilled Executive Director who will be of great value in building stronger community relations with Taos and the Taos Ski Valley, with the local music community, and beyond.”
Dr. Peterson is no stranger to Taos: “I’ve been a Taos visitor for many years, and now I can’t wait to ensure that the School continues to be an integral part of the Taos community. I’m honored to helm an organization that has played such a vital role in the lives of so many musicians. As we move forward, not only will the School continue to expand its position as an educational leader but will be at the forefront in digital, organizational strategy, and community partnerships.”
Interestingly, Dr. Peterson holds an MBA in both finance and marketing, a doctorate in musicology, and attended The Juilliard School for viola performance. Read Dr. Peterson’s Bio.
